There are several situations that may give rise to a breach of contract claim:
* A party to the contract may do something that violates a term of that contract
* A party may refuse to perform its obligations under the contract
* A party may do some act or fail to act such that it makes it impossible for the
other party to perform under the terms of the contract
In general terms, to prevail on a breach of contract claim the Plaintiff will have to show that there was a valid contract, the Defendant breached that contract, and the Defendant’s breach caused the damages the Plaintiff claims.
